TORCH Peer Leaders are a diverse group of high school students trained to present to other teens on topics ranging from human sexuality, contraception and STIs, abortion, body image and self-esteem, healthy adolescent relationships and more!
TORCH Peer Leaders are selected through a competitive application process. After completing a rigorous after-school training program on sexual health and rights, TORCH Peer Leaders travel throughout New York City presenting workshops to youth at community-based organizations, after-school programs, libraries, fairs, or anywhere they are needed!
TORCH Peer Leaders build valuable skills that help them become confident leaders in their communities. Ideally, becoming a TORCH Peer Leader will be the first step to introducing young people to the world of advocacy.
Check out The T-Spot to hear directly from the Peer Leaders about their lives, their work, and the issues that are most important to them!
